MVS MCS Tab

This tab displays if you click the MVS tab on the CA-Top Secret account template or CA-Top Secret Acid property sheet. Seven additional MVS tabs allow you to specify other MVS information. This tab lists MCS information.

The fields in this tab are listed below:

Alternate Group Recovery

Specifies the one to eight character name of the alternate group to be used in recovery. The IBM equivalent to this field is ALTG.

Commands Entered From

Lets you authorize the operator commands that can be entered from the console. The IBM equivalent to this field is AUTH. The following values are permitted:

Auto Assigned To
Command Target System

Specifies the system to which commands issued from this console are to be sent. The IBM equivalent to this field is CMDSYS. Choose from the following options:

DOM Messages Received

Specifies which delete operator messages (DOM) this console is to receive. The IBM equivalent to this field is DOM. Choose from one of the following:

KEY Keyword

Specifies the one to eight character KEY keyword to this console. The IBM equivalent to this field is KEY.

Messages Received By

Specifies the messages to be received by this console. The IBM equivalent to this field is LEVEL. Choose from one of the following:

Log Command Responses

Specifies whether command responses are to be logged in the hardcopy log. Choose Yes or No. The IBM equivalent to this field is LOGCMDRESP.

Display Format

Specifies the display format for console messages. The IBM equivalent to this field is MFORM. You can choose one of the following:

Assign One Byte Migration

Specifies whether a one-byte migration id is to be assigned to this console. Choose Yes or No. The IBM equivalent to this field is MIGID.

Monitor System Events

Specifies how selected system events will be monitored. The IBM equivalent to this field is MONITOR. Choose from the following options:

Routing Codes

Specifies the routing codes assigned to the console. The IBM equivalent to this field is ROUTCODE. Choose from one of the following:

Message Queue Size (MB)

Specifies the amount of storage in megabytes to be used for message queuing. Valid values are from 1-2000. The IBM equivalent to this field is STORAGE.

Receive Undelivered

Specifies whether to receive undelivered action messages and WTOR messages for this console. Choose Yes or No. The IBM equivalent to this field is OPERUD.

Receive Hard Copy Messages

Specifies whether this console is to receive hard copy messages. You can choose from one of the following:

Receive ConsoleID 0 Messages

Specifies whether or not the console can receive messages directed to Console ID 0.

You can choose from one of the following:

Receive Unknown ConsoleID Msgs

Specifies whether or not this console can receive messages directed to unknown console IDs. You can choose from on of the following:
