UNIX Attributes Tab

Use this tab to specify a user on a UNIX Active Directory endpoint.

The fields in this tab are listed below.

NIS Domain

Specifies the NIS domain that the user belongs to. This drop-down list displays all the NIS domains imported to Active Directory. A blank entry is provided to indicate that the user does not belong to any NIS domain.

UID

Specifies a unique user identification number (UID) within the NIS domain. If you manually enter the UID number, you must be careful not to enter a number that already exists. For this reason, we recommend that you select the Use System Assigned UID option, which is selected by default.

Size/Type: A number between 0 and 2147483647

Use System Assigned UID

Specifies a unique user identification number (UID) within the NIS domain. This option automatically assigns the next UID number for that user.

Login Shell

Specifies which UNIX login shell the system uses to log into the UNIX endpoint. For example: /bin/sh

Size/Type: 256 alphanumeric characters

Restrictions: Must be a valid UNIX path

Home Directory

Specifies the home directory for the user on the UNIX endpoint.

Size/Type: 256 alphanumeric characters

Restrictions: Must be a valid UNIX path

Primary Group Name

Specifies the group the user belongs to on the UNIX endpoint. Click the Browse button to select a new group. Click Clear to clear the group name.
